What is metabolism?

The term metabolism encompasses a series of biochemical processes and pathways in which energy from food is transformed into the body and is used to maintain and perform all life functions in it. Specific proteins in the body control metabolism and any biochemical reaction is coordinated with the body function. Metabolism is a constant process that begins with the conception itself. In defining metabolism, it is important to distinguish between energy and intermediate metabolism, although in fact they are inseparable. Energy metabolism is the total heat production in one organism, while the intermediate represents the biochemical reactions in the cells and tissues. In general, the term “metabolism” refers to intermediate metabolism. The term basal metabolism should also be known, which is a measure of the degree of metabolism that takes place while the individual rests.

Slow metabolism and it’s reasons:

The speed of metabolism is influenced by several factors: age, weight and genetics. Although old age and genetics can not be affected, the weight can. These three things can affect your metabolism badly:

What is fast metabolism?

At the end of the study, the weight of each pair of twins equally increased, but among the different couples the weight gain ranged from 4 to 13 pounds. That study confirmed that the major contribution to weight gain gives the speed of metabolism, which is mainly genetically predetermined.

It is important for people who use a diet to understand this fact because the speed of metabolism affects the effectiveness of the diet and exercise. Do not be discouraged if your metabolism is slow. You just need to be a bit more adventurous in adhering to proper nutrition and putting a lot of effort into exercise. It is also certain that everyone will lose weight, regardless of chromosome or hormone disorder, or any other metabolic-related illness, if it introduces a calorific value of food that is not sufficient for energy coverage of daily needs.
